Resins for composite materials

ELANTAS Europe has a deep knowledge in composite material development and applications. The Elan-tech? portfolio covers high-performance products based on epoxy and polyurethane for a broad spectrum of applications, especially for the carbon & aramid fibre impregnation. The main end use markets for our composite materials are marine (yachting & sailing), automotive, sport items, furnishing, industry and pipe relining.

Our processes include:

Laminating  – We offer several unfilled and low viscosity epoxy systems with various reactivity. The composite resins are manually applied in wet lay-up, ambient or vacuum bag processing, for boat making, special parts, wind mill blades and other handworks in glass or carbon fiber. RINA certificated products are available.

Vacuum bag infusion – We offer several unfilled and very low viscosity epoxy systems with various reactivity. The composite resins are used for boat making, special parts, wind mill blades and other handworks in glass or carbon fiber. RINA Certificated products are available.

RTM & press molding – Resin transfer moulding of very flowable and reactive epoxy system, at medium to high temperature, for high speed production of composite parts . Application areas are in the automotive , boats and industry market.

Filament winding - The process consists into the winding of a bath-impregnated fiber to realize, on a rotative support (mandrel or other tool), empty parts (pipes of various section, reservoires, empty parts in general). This kind of production is quite cheap and efficient with high possibility of customization of the parts and definition of the final properties. 

Pultrusion – We offer unfilled or slightly filled system with internal release agents for a continuous processing of fiber impregnation. The materials need to be cured into a mold with different temperatures. The advantage for our customers is a fast and cost efficient production with the possibility to optimize the parameters by control of temperature and reactivity of the epoxy system.
